Carsten and I have worked together consistently since 1998, he was one of the first in Sydney to adopt digital photography; he is very forward thinking when it comes to technology. Because of his early adoption of all things digital his retouching is excellent, so I always use him to complete even the most complicated jobs.
We have built up a great working relationship over the years and he is the photographer I always think of first whatever the job may be. He interprets a brief well and always has good suggestions on how to make the shot better than where the image started in my head.
We don't always have the budgets we'd like for some campaigns but Carsten will look for solutions to get the job done and work around financial restrictions. Whether we have timing issues or clients changing their minds close to shoot date, he'll always get the job done in a reliable, professional manner ... and of course deliver a great shot.

I have worked with Carsten Burmeister since he came to Australia 35 years ago. First in my capacity as a stylist (Moran furniture, Melbourne), then as a freelance photography producer (Nokia phones, Ogilvy & Mather, Singapore) and as an advertising agency art buyer & producer (Lawsons Bread, BMF Advertising, Sydney) and currently as senior art buyer for DDB Advertising, Sydney (Westpac, Johnson & Johnson).
Carsten has always been thoroughly reliable. He has looked after our clients in a professional manner and has provided excellent solutions for the commissions we gave him.
This is recent feedback from a client in regard to Carsten's work: "… we discussed how great the shot turned out ... the other parties involved said it was the best shot they'd had from an agency so far."
