George Carlin
George Carlin is my favourite of all time
here he is the ultimate Grumpy Old Man
Of George Carlin's comedy I like especially his linguistic gymnastics and his ascerbic, spot-on social satire (indeed including his rants about religion - they're hilarious); not for nothing is he considered one of the best comedians ever. I recently was more in tune with contemporary comedians like Jim Jefferies, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert (of Comedy Central) - I devoted an essay to Stephen Colbert's concept of TRUTHINESS - and our own Shaun Micallef.
Anyway ... over to you, Carlin, you rascal:
“For centuries now man has done everything he can to destroy nature …
so when nature strikes back and smacks him in the head … I enjoy that.”
This is George Carlin at his most devastating, devious and genius best:
I reckon this routine from “Life is Worth Losing” is one of the best.
Is he my favourite? Is the pope a Catholic?
