I have put my fish-eye lens to good use many times - namely with my Mardi Gras Fringe portraits. However, I have also used it as a super wide angle, where I corrected the distortion in Photoshop, as a work-around. Here are a couple of samples, shot in extremely small rooms; the focal length is 15mm:
