From my new house, a quick Sunday afternoon stroll to the Balmoral Rockshelf; it is a Sydney photographer’s staple … one returns again and again and the Landscape changes with every visit, not least because a rock or two may have tumbled down.

I am not much of a nature boy … I’m a city creature. But I can feel the soothing effect of living in a place where it is ever so easy to come to a spot – after just a few minutes’ walk – where the city is receding and nature reaches as far as the horizon.

It is said being close to nature feeds the soul. I do not subscribe to that notion … being in nature inspires me as a photographer and relaxes me as I’m removed from the city influences with their pressures. My soul, however, is fed during meditation.
